Power of Knowing: Risks and Resources When Caring for Veterans
Veterans have made tremendous sacrifices on our behalf. At AuthoraCare Collective we believe it is never too late to thank a veteran for their service. We participate in the national We Honor Veterans program which includes raising awareness of the needs of veterans in our community. This commitment has inspiried us to partner with the Veterans Administration to highlight the fact that Veterans in our community are at higher risk for mental health issues, including suicide. Many people are not comfortable having conversations about mental health and suicide and are unsure of when and how to find available resources.

• Learn about the importance of addressing the mental health needs of Veterans and why they are at higher risk for a mental health crisis.
• Learn how to talk to a Veteran about mental health and suicide and when to reach out for additional support.
• Learn about available resources for Veterans and how to access them.
